Hi everyone, I've been told that I have to write a blog for the website. What the heck is a "blog"? Of course I didn't want to appear dumb since it was said as if everyone should know what one is, so I thought I'd do a Google search on it on the interweb thingie. Now I love google. I'm sure I'm the only one who puts in really bizarre searches and I always type them as if I'm asking a real person. They usually start with "how to...", so in I type "how to write a blog". Of course because this blogging business is so popular I get some 2 million results but does anyone really go past page 2? Some of my choices on the first page are:
And the last one on the page is How to write a killer blog. Great, I thought, this one has the best adjective (or is it verb? I always get them mixed up). I thought writing a killer blog sounds a bit like me. The article pointed out a few things that you should do for your killer blog. It said to keep your copy:
Obviously this was just making this worse, so I gave up. But don't you just love all this new terminology? It seems like only yesterday I was making my husband do the accounts on the typewriter. Neither of us could figure out how to change a spelling mistake or grammer errors so if he did make a mistake he would have to start all over again. It sometimes took him 2 hours to do a 3 line account! (This is the reason why he got paid per account and not by the hour). Now we are starting to feel a part of a new generation. We've learnt to do our banking online and my husband even sends emails to his sister in the South Island (agreed, it takes him a really long time to type them and sending a letter would probably be faster). And now we are blogging! PS. Did you know that "blog" is not in the dictionary? |
